Strong matches and review leads stay separate
An exact UPC or an exact model plus matching brand is marked high confidence. A model match without brand confirmation goes into a review queue instead of being presented as certain.

The watch keeps running
Replace inventory on a schedule through a private email address or HTTPS API. We rescan after every successful import and after each twice-daily official-data refresh, then email new high-confidence matches.

The same normalized UPC appears in the agency record. The result includes the recall date, hazard, remedy, evidence, and official source link.

How the recall data is built
A traceable pipeline with an honest coverage boundary.
The hard part is not collecting headlines. It is preserving agency facts, catching missed records and corrections, and refusing to overstate a weak inventory match.
Official records, not recall-news summaries
The recall corpus comes directly from CPSC, FDA, and NHTSA feeds. Every result links back to the responsible agency so your team can verify the notice and remedy at the source.
Source facts remain traceable
We retain the agency record ID, official URL, source update date, and original official payload. When CPSC corrects a notice, source-owned fields are refreshed instead of silently keeping an obsolete copy or creating a duplicate.
CPSC coverage is checked record by record
Each scheduled run reconciles the current-year CPSC ID set against the official API and checks for missing, extra, duplicate, or stale records. A mismatch is recorded as a data-health failure rather than treated as a successful refresh.
The confidence boundary is visible
The matcher uses exact UPC/GTIN and manufacturer-model evidence. It does not turn a similar product name into an automatic alert, and it shows the exact identifier that produced every match.
Current limit: WatchRecall's exact completeness reconciliation is currently strongest for CPSC consumer-product records. FDA and NHTSA records are included and refreshed, but equivalent source-wide completeness baselines are still being built. Results also depend on the identifiers supplied by the business and published by the agency; no match is not proof that a product is safe.
