The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has issued an urgent recall of Sunnyyes LED Mini Lights due to a serious battery ingestion hazard that could result in death or severe injury to children.

What's Being Recalled

The recall involves Sunnyyes branded LED mini lights with color-changing capabilities featuring 13 different colors. Each set contains 10 multicolored lights measuring 1.18 inches in diameter, with each light containing two CR2032 lithium coin batteries. The sets also include two remote controls, each containing one CR2025 lithium coin battery.

The Safety Risk

These LED lights violate mandatory federal safety standards for products containing button cell or coin batteries. The primary dangers include:

  • Children can easily access the lithium coin batteries inside the lights
  • Screws on the remote controls that should secure battery compartments do not stay attached
  • Product packaging lacks required safety warnings mandated by Reese's Law

When children swallow button cell or coin batteries, the consequences can be devastating. These batteries can cause serious internal injuries, chemical burns, and even death. The CPSC reports one injury has already occurred in connection with this product.

What You Should Do Immediately

If you own these Sunnyyes LED lights, the CPSC urges you to:

  1. Stop using the lights immediately
  2. Place them where children cannot reach them
  3. Disassemble all components and submerge them in water
  4. Email a photo of the submerged product to usa@sunnyyes.com for a full refund

The manufacturer will provide complete refunds to consumers who follow these steps.

Safe Battery Disposal

Remember that button cell and coin batteries are hazardous materials. After disabling the product, dispose of or recycle the batteries according to your local hazardous waste procedures—never throw them in regular trash.
